Among the many highlights at the First Annual Jim Pepper Native Arts Festival was the music of Fiona Lovelle and Swil Kanim. Fiona is an incredibly strong emerging musican who blends a deep sense of her roots, mentored training and mastery of the Native Flute and a beautiful humanity in her music. Swil Kanim played some of the most brilliant Violin we have ever heard in performance. He has incredible generosity in sharing stories and music that speak to the healings of historic trauma as well as keeping faith in our dreams amidst the funkiness of our humanity. This collaboration stands out as being at the heart of the festival.
Fiona Lovelle is working on a CD – look for it!
